I've heard that the Antec Aria 2 will be announced or unveiled at CES. This information has be given to me by a source that would know these things. Any additional information, images or news posts pertaining to this will be brought here also.

Cool beans sir!

Looking forward to it.

Time to return my Aria 1, which is still in box! Hmm, if it is unveiled soon, how long do you think it will be before it is available?

Oh great, there goes the credit card just itching in my pocket again. ;)

lol. Just wait until we see it. I'm sure that itch will be a fire in your pants, IF Antec's reputation for improving their products holds true.

Will be interesting news, i'll bet it will have a normal power supply or a mATX power supply. Thats the one thing its truly missing.

SWEET. Looking forward to seeing it. I love the original Aria, but have some gripes about its looks... Hopefully the 2nd edition will look better.

I am quite suprised that there hasn't already been a market explosion of good-looking copycats of the "mATX cube" style. I would have easily jumped on the Aria, had it not been for its looks. I just had to grab a bag to put over its head first ;) Now perhaps I can move on to her good-looking cousin and ditch the bag! >crosses-fingers< Lets hope for the best!

What about the Aria's looks do you find guys distasteful? I can't stand the light up blue thingys and the ribbed top-plate. It looks busy to me. I could do with a minimalist approach....

Any spy photos of the new one?

Anything at all? I saw a pcmag.com article about new antec cases at CES, but nothing vaguely cubelike.

Can't wait for Brandon et al to return with more info!

Anything?

There's pics flowing around of Sonata 2, P180, and so on!

Can't find anything on Aria 2!

This is the update as of yesterday. The "Aria II" is scheduled to be released in Q2. Their currently isn't any specs or images on the product at this time. I would expect to see some pictures and specs "appearing" in late Feb. or early March, if the case hits the shelves in April. This is all that I know at the moment. Anything further that I find I will be posting in this thread. Sorry that I don't have better news.

Thanks Brandon... now to decide if I should keep my existing Aria.... think its worth sending back?

I for one am not going to wait for the Aria 2. The Aria is not with out it's imperfections, but that's what modding is all about. If the Aria 2 turns out to be a great case, it's a few months away and by then i should be bored of my aria :D

Good news. I had heard before that they weren't going to pursue the ARIA line. Maybe they realized they had no competition. Let's hope the second one doesn't suck and I can use a full sized ATX PSU w/o modding.

i'm there with you. full sized ATX or Antex miniATX PSU that's modular, better intake and unrestricted 120mm fan for exhaust....and BLACK...instead of blue......I'm right there with ya! :D

Personally, I like the Aria case. The only thing I don't like is the lack of air flow in the case. Even with the side panels off the airflow sucks. I'm about to mod it for 2 80mm 15mm high fans to blow into the sides. If I don't bring in cool air my ram gets stupid hot and my video card memory gets too hot also. I'm watercooling the cpu and gpu and they are keeping nice and cool, but the other components are suffering from the lack of airflow.

Darn, and I just got an Antec Aria. :(

I hope the new revision fixes many of the flaws of the first Aria, particularly airflow (cooling) and user accessibility.

Why not get some silent 2*92*38mm fans instead? I don't know why everyone keeps going with the Zalmans. The speed that the fan spins at is what determines the noise and those Zalmans don't put out much air.

To Cliff, ya all black would be perfect. Not a fan of the mutt design. ...and what's up with that stupid beveled top? Looks cheap and alot of the noise escapes through that thin thing. Lots of room for improvement in the ARIA, but it's still a nice case.

People choose the Zalmans because the are thin (15mm) so they tuck nicely next to SATA ports on the motherboard which are usually found on side edge and require little or no modification to the drive cage. Now, I opted for something a bit bigger with a SilenX 80mm fan and you'd be hard pressed to hear it. The Rear 120mm fan is the loudest component in the system.

I never mentioned Zalman...

I could care less who makes the fans. I'm looking at the case as it is now, with 2 fans blowing into the side of the case on either side and no side panels and I know what size fans I need. 80 or 92 doesn't matter to me. But they have to be 15mm thickness in order to keep from hitting stuff inside the case when the side panels are installed.

That's right, I forgot I hacked those purposeless aluminum overhangs off. You could also try an 80x80x20mm fan. That might fit. I know it's 10mm from the side of the case to the PSU.

It's not so much the PSU, it's where my memory slots are, and the memory is what really needs the air. The fan you see in the pic is a 70x70x25mm fan, it's too thick for that spot. See where the memory slot tabs are to where the edge of the case is.

i've used most antec cases n i don't like aria.. finish doesnt look too good, bad air-flow..

And your point for bringing this up? -P

As far as the cage overhangs, I agree, they are kinda a waste other than the metal guides at the top that hold the cage in place. What purpose do these provide other than to restrict airflow to the hard drives?

I have an Aria and use it mainly to record TV shows using Snapstream's Beyond TV and I like the looks of it. However, I hope Antec changes the PSU to either a Standard PSU or a modular one in the Aria II, for buiding the computer in the original Aria is a pain in the ***. I hope they get better airflow, although SFF cases aren't really meant for overclocking. Just My .02 cents.

If you break or dremel off the bottom corner of the cage of a 80mm fan it will fit right there by the memory, This is what I did, and my MB NEVER gets hot. I can even OC my A64 3400+ and X800 pro without problems. this is with just that one 80mm fan blowing in, and the PS fan blowing out/slot cooler fan on the other side in one of the PCI slots.

Ditto. Just grind the lower edge of the fan. Also, I would think a 70mm should be able to be placed high enough to avoid that problem. Looks like your tubing may get in the way of anything wider though.

Sounds like dave and I have nearly the exact same components. Sweet...
