Hey all, I just ordered an Antec 900 ($80AR) for my new build, but I'm having a wee bit of second thoughts--any insight into the loudness of this thing...I've read as many reviews that say it is loud as I have that it is quiet. I'm coming from an Aspire X-Dreamer II, and I've always hated the thing because of its noise and poor grounding.

I've looked at the Coolermaster Centurion 5, but I worry that the cooling is on the weak side. A P180 is a bit more than I wish to spend at the moment. Thanks!
 
I owned an Antec 900 and I loved it, definitely one of the best if not the best case i ever owned, but definitely my favorite. Its not loud if you do it right, put the built in fanspeed controllers on the fan chassis' to low, or if you cant even tolerate that, which isnt loud, but some 120mm yate loons. The case has insane good cooling, dont back out its an awesome case, worth $80 for years to come IMHO. good buy.
 
Centurion 534 or RC-690 would be better choices, but the original centurion is nice, it's much better with a few mods though.

Actually, I pretty seriously considered the RC690 until reading some of the early reviews....doesn't sound as it is going to be as positive as I had hoped. :( Metal plated power button is a big turn off (static is a big issue where I'm at--I've had shock problems with my XDreamer...)
 
My friend has one, sounds perfectly quiet. I'm not sure if he has replaced the fans or anything though. Pretty sure he hasn't he's so tight on money every time he takes a stride he squeaks a penny out.
 
I have a 900 i snagged off of craigslist for 50.00 with the plastic still on the side

I added a Logisys to the side panel since it was laying around and its still quiet as a mouse

Fans are on low

Going to pick up 4 yate loons and im going a different color on the led's
