Antec 900, Grounding Problem?

Hey everyone,

I just bought a new case as I needed better airflow for my system (see sig) than the Centurion 534 offered. Got the Antec 900, beautiful case, especially in the logic that went into its design. Anyway, here's the problem: My system works fine in the old case, works fine on my work bench, I install it in the 900 and it won't boot. Power turns on and the video card fan runs at full blast, but no POST. I grabbed a speaker form another case to see if I'd get any beeps and I dont. What's the deal? Am I grounding something? Two things I noticed about the case is that 1) there's a ground wire leading from the top audio/USB panel and 2) the case came with a bunch of nylon/plastic washers, do the standoffs need to be electrically isolated or something in this case?

Thanks for any help/info.

Cheers,
Mr. K6

That's the thing, I did that and it stopped working again so maybe the motherboard is just messed up (dont know how, it looks perfect, dont see a bit of damage). I sent it in for an RMA, I'll see how it goes (damn DS3's and their boot problems). Thanks for the reply.

hmm thats strange. I never had this kind of problem when I got my 900. It could be the wiring?

have u installed any nb heatsinks or double checked the mounting of the cpu hsf to make sure the clips arent grounding or shorting the board somewhere.

My nb waterblock was shorting my board a few days after i installed it and it drove me nuts trying to figure that out it wasnt untill i loosened the mounts that the cpu booted up. / oh u already rma ;P

i have my main system in antec 900 (see sig) no grounding or any other odd issues, its a great case and with a little bit of work you can get a really nice clean install.

Yah, I love the case. I have a Corsair 620HX so wire management is pretty easily done. I got my P35-DS3P today, I'll see how it goes with that board .
