I am currious what direction the fan on the antec 900 at the top of the case is supose to blow? Like, I set a piece of paper on top of it and it floats up, and doesnt get sucked down. What I did was buy a large thin piece of foam and I was going to use it to keep the dust out of my machine. I figured if I placed it on top of the fan it would be sucked into place because the air was being sucked from above and being shot into the case. Well this isnt happening, the foam will float on top of it for some reason :(

Could it be my fan is spinning backwards, and is there any way to reverse this?

The 200mm fan on the 900 is supposed to push air out. The only two intake fans are the front two.

hmm, well isnt that kinda dumb considering there are 2 120mm fans at the back that push air out?

There is only 1 120 MM fan that exhausts air out the back. Depending on the orientation of your power supply, it may also be exhausting air out back also. Most people orient their side panel fan to blow air over their video cards and other pci cards. Also many guys buy another hard drive cage and have three front 120mm intake fans. So with a minimum of 2 but up to 4 intake fans, it makes sense that the 200 mm fan is used as an exhaust fan along with another 120 mm fan. So your dust filters should be going on all your intake fans, they won't help to put them on your exhaust fans. Hope this helps. :)

Zenozx, where do you see 2 120mm exhaust fans in 900? There's only 1 120mm fan in the back, are you sure you are not mixing up 900 and 1200? Also, Hroman, where would those people with 3 HDD cages put their opticals?

It amazes me that someone can put together a system like that without a general concept of how cooling works or the ability to count 120mm fans. I would be completely shocked if that overclock is actually stable.

I have 3 intake fans, the 2 front 120mms and the side window fan. I have 3 exhaust fans, One in the back of the Case, One in the PSU and the 200mm up top.

Best way to keep a case cool, is to work with the thermal dynamics, and not against it. Heat rises, so therefore you want the fans working that way also. The front fans should be in the 2 lowest positions pulling cool air into the case. You have the rear Fan, and the 200mm up top to pull the hot air out. the side fans blows cool air onto the video cards and it is then pulled out by the PSU and Video card fans to keep the heat from building up there.

There are other acceptable variations of this, but basicly you want the cool air to come in low and from the front and go out the rear and top.

Im sorry, but for gods sake man, use some common sense! If the fan is blowing the paper UP, then which damn way does that mean the air is blowing? "Ok, the paper is floating up into the air so that must mean its sucking in!!" Common dude, please. The reason your foam is floating up because that is a top EXHAUST, blowing OUT fan. Read your manual.

Common sense should have kicked in and you'd realized you'd answered your own question... lol.

TehQuick, I've seen two options. Some people use external USB based dvd rom drives. Personally I don't like that, I like everything contained in the case. Others have used a laptop dvd rom drive, found the adapter for it to convert to normal Sata data and floppy power connections and have dremelled out a hole below the bottom drive bay where "Antec" is written. Some people with steady hands have made the drive look stock. If you're interested, you can do a google search on modded 900s and you'll find pics and tutorials of the mod.

ok. no offense man but im getting a headache just trying to figure out how you even got a computer together and working if you dont understand fan directions. ugh.
