Antec 620 + 6970 temperatures?

I took apart my XFX 6970 that was having some heat issues (idling at 70*C, killing itself during any game, etc.) and managed to break the heatsink rather badly in the process. I picked up an Antec KÜHLER H₂O 620 and used it as a replacement heatsink along with the metal plate previously used to cool the RAM chips. It's my first time using CPU cooling on a graphics card. I honestly expected better results. Are the 6970s just THAT hot running, should I remove the RAM heatsink and use something like this, or do I have a case issue somewhere?

When idling (browsing the internet), the 6970 remained a constant 53*C. FurMark reached a max of 73*C with the on board fan (for the ram chips) disabled, and 71*C with the on board fan at 50%. I had Folding@Home running in the background on all four cores for all testing. CPU temps (Corsair H60) were 65*C-68*C. The house was 77*F during the test.

I have a Fractal Design Define Mini mATX case with the following fan setup:
1x Fractal Design Silent Series fan as intake, in front of 3x hard drives
1x Whatever fan came with the Corsair H60 as intake, cooling the H60 (CPU)
1x Whatever fan came with the KÜHLER H₂O 620 as exhaust, top of case, cooling the GPU

I have 3 additional fan locations I could add fans to, but my motherboard only has 2 fan headers total, and I have no molex connectors on my power supply. Do I need to worry about adding additional fans? Can I replace any of my existing fans with more quiet solutions without worrying about heat?

Oh, that... I figured that they were using some sort of high-temperature paste to adhere the steel VRM/RAM heatsink to the GPU heatsink, so I removed anything plastic, and placed it in the oven for a minute or two. It's kinda funny... It didn't really slowly inflate, it just kinda popped like a popcorn kernel. Startled the heck out of me, followed by the "Oh crap, I just ruined my GPU cooler" thought. I actually originally intended to use my H60 for the GPU cooler, and went all over town looking for the little ram heatsink thingies. While at Best Buy, I noticed that they had the 620s for sale, and I recalled a couple other folks using them on their video cards. It looked much smaller than my H60, which I was going to have issues mounting, so I figured, why not try and reuse the stock RAM heatsink?
