Antec 300 side fan?

Where can i get screws for this? Bought yesterday and didnt come with any screws that would work for this.

Any 120mm fan usually comes with those screws, did you not get any?

And to hijack your thread, since the two fans in the front appear to do a great job bringing in fresh air, I figured why not do the side fan exhausing air out instead of bringing it in? The other reason I had this thought is it looked like it would be blowing right into the exhaust ports on my video card effectively pushing against my video card's fan (9600GT). So now it takes the heat exhausting immediately off the card and shoots it right out of the case. The top two fans of course also exhaust. Good idea/bad idea?

my side is right ontop of my GPU, my 4870 sucks air in so cold in going into it = better.
I got a couple 120MM fans via FS/t so didnt get screws but i do have some that will be delivered today via Frys. but still I ordered from sidewinders, snagged me some more 775 retention brackets as well!

In the case of your card exhausting outside the case, yeah that's better. I was worried I'd actually burn out my video card fan by pushing air right back at it the opposite direction. If you lived in Phoenix, I'd give you a bunch of 'em, I have a bunch extra.

I'm putting together a rig to OC a Q6600 and have the 300. I also purchased an Antec 650w PSU and have mounted it upside down to allow it to breathe. Is this what everyone does or do you face the PSU fan into the bottom of the case? I'm still waiting for my processor to come in, so I haven't powered up the system to see which way the fan is flowing....but I'm assuming exhaust...

PS fans on the bottom like that suck in air and exhaust out the back. So in that setup it will be pulling air down away from your video card, though how strongly depends on how fast its rotating. Many will tell you to do it exactly how you have it there, but you do have to be careful about stuff falling into it possibly (screws, cables drooping, etc). Personally on the 300 I noticed theres a nice little gap on the bottom that looks designed to allow you to have the PS right side up with the fan below. I setup my Windows Home Server that way and it appears to get plenty of airflow down there in my opinion. For some odd reason my buddies 900 did not have that design and the bottom was flat, I thought that quite odd since the 900 is supposed to have all the 300 does and more.

900 is a lot older then the 300... design changes, etc...there are a lot of people on here and some other modding sites that have punched a hole in the bottom of the 900 for this reason

I was just coming to the board to ask this exact question... I am putting (2) 120s in the front blowing in, side fan blowing in, a 120 in the 5 1/4 bays also blowing in. (I'll get pics up tomorrow of what I did for mounting and "grill")

out will be the rear 120, the top 140 and the PSU...

So, you are having no themal issues with flipping the PSU over and having it draw right from the bottom of the case?

None that I'm aware of, I'm not sure how to check the PS for overheating. If you think about it air coming in the front should shoot right to the back and exhaust out as long as nothings blocking it (and on mine nothing is). Add in the fact that unlike the top of the case, all the heat is rising away from the PS not collecting all around it. And if you look at the bottom, it appears to be designed to function that way anyway with the four raised pillars and the amount of clearance below. So if Antec says its good, that's good enough for me.

Good point, I guess I really didn't notice that when I was in my 300, I have a BFG ES-800, I would hate for anything to fall inside of it...

The manual for the Antec 300 says ... "Power supplies with fans on the bottom will need to be mounted upside down."

i have an antec 300.. actually found the case works better with no side fan at all.. having 2 fans in the front on medium the back fan blowing out on low and the top fan blowing out on medium.. it actually creates enough suction in the case that stuff laying on my floor gets stuck to the vent on the side of my case.. if you have a psu with a bottom fan.. there really is no need for a side fan in my opinion.. and the case is dang quiet..

if you worried about stuff falling in it.. just get a thin filter and lay it ontop of the fan on the psu.. will stop anything from falling into the psu.. and will also help keep it clean..
