Got a 15" 2009 MBP. 3ghz C2D, 4GB ram, Apple 128GB SSD. 10.7
Only goes up to 8GB ram so that might happen in the future.
Thinking if anything just keep it around as a spare or maybe get this and make it into a decent HTPC/emulator station.
Any other ideas/projects that would be worthwhile?

This time next year I'll probably have to start thinking about what I'm going to do about my late-2009 iMac. Fingers crossed I get more than one more Mac OS release out of it.

Of-course you can keep this machine and use it in a best possible manner if you really know how to use it. 8 GB RAM upgrade is not bad at all. I kept my old Mac for a quite long time until it's hardware failed.

OP: Any projects/ideas on what I can do with this old mac?
Donald Kepler: Keep the machine and use it in a best possible manner if you really know how to use it, of course!
