I have 4 Quads, 1 E6600, 1 P4 and a PS3 currently chugging away. My issue is this

3 Quads, 1 E6600 and the P4 all show GMT to be CT + 5hrs

My new Quad shows CT + 6hrs

Bad thing is FahMon thinks the new quad is HUNG when it is not... checked it myself at the console and its pegged 100% and is still progressing!

/shrug!

Check to make sure your timezone is correctly set in the OS.

Checked bios, time is correct
Checked windows, Time is correct
Check Windows Time Zone, its set for Central Time (US & Canada)

Me /boggled!

I've never seen this before.. its sooo damn odd... I'll go double check everything...

Just insanely weird eh!

Yep double checked it all, just in case my 3am review was 1/2 asleep.. but nope all is set accurately... I mean CT is -6hrs from GMT so I don't understand why my other boxes show -5... that is what is baffling!

it is showing -5 due to daylight savings time. We go from -6 to -5 at different times of the year.

Then I bet I know what this is!!!

There was a patch by Microsoft and although I have it set to download them it hasn't I'm going to go force it... I bet dollars to donuts that patch will fix it.

Yes, you need to patch it and I bet the one showing the incorrect time isn't patched yet ;)

In fahmon make sure ignore asynchronous clocks is checked (worked for me)

FIXED! Was the patch as we expected. Really weird issue, but at least now I know how to fix it :)

You need to drink more MOJO!

and have some popcorn!

I'm praying the changes I've made last night and today bring me some MOJO

1. New Router Entry level Enterprise Linksys RV016 (Done)
2. Added TRUE to one of my Q6600's that I had used an old zalman on, which was a bad idea (Done)
3. Replaced the 2 gigs of memory with spares I had for the failing ones (Done)
4. In process of removing DHCP from the Router (Today) < Hmm proving to be more difficult than I would have thought it to be!
5. Added a Q6600 in an Antec 900 Case (Done)
6. Upgrading my HTPC from E6600 to Q6600 (Today)
7. Utilize the E6600 in my 780i Mobo that came yesterday until my Q9450 arrives(Today or Tomorrow)

/crosses fingers!

Sounds like your been hard at it, dude. Hope those upgrades are all problem free. You've been needing a good string of luck lately.

What is going on? I would like to know!

Done with the HTPC upgrade and its folding...could only get it to 3.2Ghz the Vdroop was insane on the mobo... a whole .2v Set it for 1.5v and your lucky if your pushing 1.3v through the processor. I wonder if that has to do with the fact that it is a 380w PSU.. really shouldn't I'm pulling 185w on it... /shrug.. ah well its stable at 1.27v at 3.2ghz 400fsb 8x multi.

So far everything has going well all machines have been 100% stable all day. The proof will be the next few days...

Thanks for the wish of luck. Still could not figure out the Static IPs should be straight forward but when I do it I lose internet connectivity. /shrug I can research it some and play with it this weekend.

What board is used in the HTPC ? The vdroop is a function of the motherboard (often, some will drop more with quads than with duals), not the PSU so don't worry about the 380w ;)

ASUS PKE-VM HDMI - worst I've seen, it handled the Dual core just fine at 3.6 with a .05 - .1v drop the quad core though seems to be kicking its butt.

Damn, and I thought the 0.1-0.12 vdroop on my Gigabyte P965-DS3 was bad. I would have to say the voltage regulation on that mobo isn't too good. As long as the voltage stays stable it shouldn't be a problem as long as everything is kept cool, though.

I think I figured out the Static IP issue I was having. It was two fold.

1. Linksys does not like you using 192.168.1.100-149 as those are reserved for DHCP

2. I did not fill in the DNS server at 192.168.1.1

I had initially set it up as 192.168.1.130 which had issues with #1 above. Will give it another shot tonight. I really want to eliminate my network dropping issue. I had my new Q6600 hung early this morning due to network drop out. Luckily just one box was affected.
