Another welcome me, I'm new thread.

I just threw the no non-sense client on my Vaio V505EX with a 1.5 Pentium 4 mobile with Centrino.
I have it set to only use 30% of the CPU, that way the laptop fans don't kick on.

I'm about to "b0rg" my Pentium 4 3.06, and my GF's 1.8ghz.
My work just got 10 new 2.8GHz Dells, and I'm going to attack them tomorrow.

I used to run Seti and Boinc back in the day, but its been so long. I'm going to read through all the stickys to get my bearings but if someone wants to point anything out, that would be great.

the stickies are a great place to start... the folks here have done a great job creating and updating them... Welcome to the team!! We're a pretty friendly bunch, so don't get offended if someone tells you to go hug a moose!

Ask any questions you may have... We're all here to help in whatever way we can... and feel free to let the addiction of watching your stats and competing against teammates take over ;)

Welcome!

Keep on Folding!!

Cool, those pentium Ms are some sweet stuff, My gfs loves gromacs, thats badly phrashed, no s!!!!!!s. But i have the same problem about fans, laptop fans are so fucking loud. It really annoys me cos its on 24/7 and would net me at least 100 points a day, but she claims about the noise.

Here is a question.
I just put 2 instances of the no nonsense program on my HT machine. I think I followed the directions correctly.
How would I go about making sure that both programs are installed correctly, and running seperate tasks?

Check task manager and make sure both virtual CPUs are at 100%, not 50%.

Welcome to the team! Good luck with those dells!

When you do the config at the start, under the advanced options, you can
set the machine ID number, 1-8 or so.. so each client would be a different
number

I downloaded the Fahmon program from the sticky thread.
I'm using that to monitor the computers on my network.

So far I've got on my 3.06GHz:
May 8 for 241 points
March 14 for 63 points

On the Vaio:
April 22 for 364 points

All still show no ETA

<<<< you gotta be careful with this guy....

edit: Welcome!!!

I just b0rged my mom's 1.7 Celeron and my sister's 1.8ghz Pentium 4.

So thats:
1.5ghz at 30%= 450mhz
3.06ghz
1.7ghz
1.8ghz
and another 1.8 by the end of the night
for a grand total of...

8.81 GHz of cancer fighting computing power.
I guess I'll add it to the D to 1000 thread when I get the last machine borged.

Welcome to the team!!

And nice work your almost higher than i am in GHZ in your first day

Buck
