I currently have an i5 4670k and nVidia GTX 760 video card. My current monitor is 1900 x 1200. I have managed to save enough money to purchase a new GTX 1070. It is probably over kill for my current monitor but I am planning to upgrade the monitor to 4K in the new year. My question is whether the video card will be bottle necked by the CPU?

In other words would it be better to save money and buy a GTX 1060 now and then wait another year or so to upgrade everything, or will the GTX 1070 get me by for the next 3 years or so?

Thanks

You will be fine for most of the time for most games, some games you can be thread limited even OC'd as Rise of the Tomb raider at that resolution with that card just for example. on the other hand, there's no such thing as overkill and certainly even at 1920x1200 a 1080 or TitanXP isn't overkill if the user is aiming for 120hz+ Panels.

GTX 1070 is the way to go. Just buy it and you'll be all set. Buying cheap and buying again later is just a hassle and a waste of $.
