I'm in the market for an SSD, but I don't have a huge budget. I'm looking for deals to hit my budget, so MIR's are ok as long as the company's rebate processing is reputable.
I've noticed larger SSD's are faster, simply because there are more "channels" to work with, so I'm having a hard time finding the best bang for buck. I could go with a smaller, "better" drive, or a larger one from a not-so-reputable company, but I'm having a hard time understanding the tradeoff of speed vs size. I want something that is compatible and that has longevity. See my system in my sig (RedDevil). I may be upgrading the mobo / CPU in a year or so, so I'd like something SATA III.
The drive would be used for Windows and a few commonly used programs / games. Data will be on my existing 500GB spinner.
Here's a summary of what I'm looking for:
$100 - $125 max (including shipping and/or tax)
60GB +
SATA III for futureproofing
Compatible with AMD / Intel systems
Lifespan (2-5 years or longer would be nice)
Decent garbage collection
TRIM support
Does this exist?
