Another quick question-about memory speed

Heres my question:

If I am running an Athlon XP2800+ at a FSB of 333 (166*2), does this mean that my PC3200 has to run at that same speed, or can it run at 400mhz (200*2)? This is gonna be for a MSI K7N2-L (nForce 2).

Thanks

I'd think that the RAM by default would run at the same speed (333 Mhz). However, some people have said that their RAM runs at DDR400 while their FSB is 333.

For Athlons though, you want 1:1 CPU:DRAM ratio anyways. Athlons have subpar asynchronous controllers.

Unless you have OC your system bus, your mem is running at 333.

BillLeeLee is right, defiantely leave the mem ratio at 1:1. Messing with that will only screw up an AMD system.
