Another Question - Folding CD - bootable from USB?

I'm working on a farm and I want to be sure that the folding cd is bootable from the USB, so that I don't need as many dvd drives for the farm. Please advise... -_-
 
you mean like using a USB cdrom and booting one up and then moving it to the next, booting it up and so on?
 
Evil, I was looking at a manual of a MOBO, what exactly would booting from a USB Drive look like in the BIOS boot selection set up? I see several USB in there, they are USB-FDD, USB-ZIP, USB-HDD and USB-CDROM. I'm guessing this particular mobo doesn't supports it?
 
I am currently using the notfred's folding distro on a usb disk.

One thing to be aware of...it found my onboard nic, but refused to get a lease. I have found other people having issus with this realtek lan chipset. Mine is a 8111b 10/100/1000 I believe. I popped a intel gigabit nic i had in another box and it works like a charm. Kinda dissapointing though because I was hoping to use the onboard...let money/less power...

The real shocker was, the Dell 530 I just got w/ integrated intel 10/100 does the exact same thing. It sees the card, but refuses to get a lease. I ended up using the vista that it came with, but was hoping to rip the disk out and use it elsewhere.

Long story, short, make sure you choose boards with a lan chipset that works with notfred's kernal...

Worst case, www.pendrivelinux.com has as shitload of information to fit other distros on a USB disk, where you can install additional drivers. When i get the time...
 
Oh and looking at your other question USB-HDD would be the one that works the best.

For A Thumbdrive .. it is option USB-HDD
