another problem with temps...

Just got a intel dg43gt classig series m-atx motherboard. cpu temps for q9300 are reading as 50c... I was wondering if it is the processor because in the last motherboard it was around the same temp. Only question i ask myself is that in the last motherboard it showed 30c for a while. so i wonder if its the motherboard or processor. I tried reseating the cooler, applying new thermal paste, did it how they show on intel site, re seated the processor and still nothing. help!!! :(
 
zalman 9700 not oc'd and its at idle :( which scares me. a friend said it will be fine because the processors can get all the way up to 100c but thats hard to believe.
