another problem with my hp

you can buy a 420w thermaltake power supply on newegg for 36 bucks shipped then u can put in any video card you want.

btw I suggest u stay away from geforce fx series

if u want to spend less than 150 and ur an agp user i suggest one of those 6800LE that you can unlock the pipes on.

just remember there are plenty of options in the 150 dollar range that do NOT include the fx series
 
please don't buy that card...stores like that overcharge ridiculously for video cards. I would look on www.newegg.com and search through some other threads to see what people bought for $150, maybe a 6600gt, but yah you will need a new psu as well.

I love how they put that on the box and poor saps fall for it. Like someone already mentioned spend $35 more dollars and get a decent card.
 
I ran a 9600 pro, an overclocked Celeron [2Ghz 400Mhz FSB, to 2.66Ghz at 533Mhz FSB] 2 harddrives, 2 DVD drives [ one being a R/W ], 1 92mm fan, 3 80mm fans, and an xbox controller all on a HP power supply...which i think was in the around 200 watts...not exactly positive.

I've since changed to a Foxconn 350watt and a stock P4 and a single hdd/optical drive.

i feel really sorry for people who buy HP or Compaq computers
