Ok..

Currently I have a:

GTX260 (216core)
and gt240 (1gig) for physx

Seems to work ok, all my gaming is done on 47" HDTV 1080p res over HDMI

Now what I have here though is an upgrade which is a GTX465 for the 260

I also just got a gt430 (1gig)

The GT240 will go of course, but the question is do I want to run the Physx off of the 430 or the 260 ?

I'm wondering about DirectX 11 here as well.. the 260 doesn't have DX11, but the 400 series do, does it matter for physx what the direct x capabilities are of the card?

I plan to fully test it out later, I haven't even taken the cards out of the boxes yet, but I was curious as to opinions here as to the DX11 issue and which would be better for the physx aspect of it

Are you worried about power consumption and heat? The GTX260 is going to be a lot better at physx than the GT430.

Also, why did you buy a GT430, when you already had a GT240? The GT240 is pretty much the equal to the GT430.

Also, you don't really need anything more than a GT240 for physx when you're running a GTX465/GTX260 level of GPU. Also, the GTX465 is a horrible buy right now. There really is no reason to buy it.

Nope, not worried about power or heat, rig is the second one in my signature actually.. lian li case works well for cooling, swapped out the fan with noctuas and added top 140mm as well, so it's cool.. if power is an issue I've got a 1200watt PSU I can toss in there but I think 800watt should be enough

as far as why I bought them, well I didn't buy them.. Sparkle gave them to me for review... along with 15 other cards as well to review/giveaway ;)

oh and I made a mistake the GT240 I was running is only a 512mb, pulled it out last night actually to start benchmarks on the gtx260 only.. so having 1gig for physx as opposed to 512mb should make a difference I would think, so I think it might be worth swapping just for usable memory sake

The 1gb vs 512mb won't make a difference, having 216 sp instead of 96 is what will make the difference.

If anyone is curious.. I started some testing with Mafia II

Setting are 1920x1080 res, Vsync off and everything else on or set to high.

Basic rig specs:
DFI X48 mobo
C2Q9650 @3ghz
8gigs ram

Sparkle 465GTX is the main card then I paired with a few others so far.. more to do yet

Different Physx settings with the benchmark
