(Another One) Nvidia vs Ati!

Ok so I have a 6800GT and I can't stand going from 90 fps to 40 then to 60 and back up to 90, you know wht I mean.................

I see that people that have some of the new Ati cards don't have that problem and that there is no jerkines like on the Nvidia cards?

And what about SLI will that fix the problem with the jerkines?

I sold my 9800Pro to my friend and it seems to play games smother butt with less fps.

When I play AA on pipeline I can't stand being on assualt and right at the spawn when a new round starts I get 40 fps and when I walk in side it goes to 90 fps.

So should I sell my 6800GT for a X800XT-PE or wait for SLI and get two 6800GT's?

disable vsync and force your refresh rate as high as possible in the nv driver control panel, will fix the problem. or even just disabling vsync will be fine.

but what if he's using an LCD monitor?

disabling vsync is usually not an option for LCD users like myself because you get screen tearing bigtime.

VSYNC is a driver control option. You can disable and enable it no matter what monitor your running.

I do have Vsync disabeled in the game but can I disable it in the NV control panel?

And I'm using a 19" ViewSonic CRT.

Yes, but LCDs run around 60 Hz for their refresh rate. Therefore, if you disable VSync, you'll have tons of screen tearing, which looks horrible.

I know that but LCD users almost always have to use vsync or we get screen tearing pretty bad.

When you say "Jerkiness" I believe you are reffering to game Stuttering. Alot of Nvidia users are reporting the Stuttering problem. Using v-sinc will help get rid of that "Tearing" you might see in the middle of the screen. This happens if there is an unbalance between the card and the processor. I have an X800pro Vivo flashed to XT PE and have no stuttering in games whatsoever. In some games like Doom3 I had to enable v-sinc. I am using a Dell 17' CRT.
