Another One...Is this a strong/balanced system?

I know this prob gets posted more than anything else, but here goes:

By the end of the month maybe

I just wanted to know if this looks like a decent system. I have way too much other stuff to do to do any hardcore research. I have done some basic research on here and on tom's and this seems to be a decent setup. I just want to know if everything seems to match up. I really would like the x2 chip because I do more than just game, and it would be helpful in my day to day tasks. If it comes down in price (to ~425) later this month, i would definitely go for it.

I will most likely NOT overclock the system. (so i did pick the right speed ram for not overclocking correct?)

I will be doing gaming I dabble in WoW and play some CS:S. I would like it to handle these with plenty of eye candy, and a couple of games in the future with a little eye candy. (I realize systems don't last forever)

I am coming from a nf2 box with a 2800+ barton and a 6600GT 128 card (forgot what model, but slightly overlcocked from factory) anda a gig of 3200 ram. and a caviar 200GB 7200 drive which will make its way to my new setup.

1.) that list has two cpu's :)

2.) if you're not going to overclock don't spend any money on a hsf, just use the stock.

3.) been a lot of threads around lately with people having problems with 7900 gt's. Maybe consider a 7800gtx, or at least do some research

4.) don't get that psu - the NeoHE's are known to have problems with asus mobo's. I would take the money you get from not buying that hsf and get a better psu, like Seasonic S12 600 or Enermax Liberty 620. Other psu's to look at are OCZ PowerStream, Silverstones are ok, FSP/Fortron Group are quite good.

If you're going to get the Asus a8n why not go for the extra A8n32 for the extra $25.

If you're not going to do any over clocking I'd dump the typhoon. I wouldn't want to add the noise and the stock HSF should be fine if you're running stock.

If you go for the x2 you'll get a 4 heat pipe stock fan which apprently is excellant. MADSHRIMPS review of HSF

1. I personally would not waste so much money for a couple hundred Mhz and get an Opty 165 or maybe a 170.

2. Don't waste extra money on cooling if you don't overclock or don't have good climate control.

3. NeoHE + ASUS = BAD... even though they say the problem has been fixed, people still report problems. Get this Antec instead http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16817103931

4.7900 series issues......eVGA should have their replacements availabe online soon..they have alot of RMA's to take care of first :(

5.Use the extra cash from getting an Opty 165 instead of X2 and nixing the Typhoon add to your vid card budget and get you a 7950GX2.

6.Corsair is a fav of mine but G.Skill kicks so much ass at a cheaper price http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?Item=N82E16820231047

I guess I just didn't realize that the Opty's were ok for a desktop PC. Tom's interactive CPU guide didn't have them, so I figured they must be made for a different market.

I would go for a 4600 x2, but I just don't have the time/patience to OC it.

Yeap, socket 939 opty's are meant for desktops.
