I like the look of the Fedora 8 64 bit interface and I have never dealt with the Fedora 9 OS

I'm a little curious about the Fedora 9 folding results et al because I have a Fedora 8 CD and haven't really messed with the OS since the old Fedora 7 version.
IMHO, and from many posts and articles I've read on the "Net", folding under any flavor of Linux is more eficient than windose. With the windose affinity changer (AC) for a C2D or a quad using VM (folding 2x clients) the advantage of folding in Linux has been decreased and any advantage using a quad for a single client is non existant

Heh, I haven't really messed with Fedora since Fedora Core 6. Yes, that was before they changed the name by dropping "Core". Folding results should be basically the same through all the Linux flavors since the kernel between all of them is basically the same. There could be some background programs running which would cause lower performance for folding, but that should be the only reason for differences. I ran into this problem once as a background service went nuts on me killing about 800-1k PPD of production for several days until I hooked up a monitor, keyboard and mouse to the system to see what was going on.
Oh, and nice addition in the OP. We'll definitely take all we can get.
