another noob w/ a thermal paste q...

well i have some white compound (it was free, i used it :/) and put it on my cpu. The thing is, i don't think i applied it very well at all, since my temps are isane... but then again my room temp is like 80 right now.. case at 98 (3 case fans workin their asses off... in other words fuckin 2000rpm :/
 
well you didn't even tell us your CPU temp. And that case temp isn't terrible (esp considering the room temp).

it'll work even w/ regular thermal paste, although i dont' suggest OCing given your circumstances...lower those room temps ~10-20 degrees...then think about OCing...and get some AS5 if you want to OC...
