Hi guy im new to this water cooling stuff and as being new to it i was wondering how the Swiftech H20-220 APEX with the Storm Storm water block would be for a starter kit ? like I said i know nothing about this stuff and i hear people saying to stay away from the APOGEE water-block or is there a better system i could build myself and save any money doing it. The case im using is in my sig so i think this system should fit just fine. I don't want to spend much over $300 dolars if possible, but i want a good system for my Opty 148 and for now will only use it on the cpu but want to add gpu soon.Like I said im lost and don't want to screw anything up in my system im CRYING Out for HELP ;)

The APEX kit with either the Storm or the Apogee will work fine, personally I think the Storm block would be better, but with the testing methods available to us it is hard to say with certainty whether that is absolutely true or not.

Apex w/ Storm, and then add on a DangerDen Maze4 Acetal GPU block for your video card.
Total should be around $300.

The apex with appogee seems to be the only one you will find as I have not seen a apex W/Storm in a while.

I found the Appex with storm in stock at least thats what the web site says. Now how well does that rad fit on the back of my case ? i really don't know the size of these things and want to make sure it will fit with getting in the way on my video plugs. I have been reading all day on this setup or a custom build, i don't know as of yet but if this will fit ok i think i will go with this setup as being a first timer it mite be easier for me to set it up.I think the rad will stick out far enought from the case from the pics i see on the web.

Well the apex kit comes with a radbox that mounts on to the standard 120mm fan holes. It also puts about a 1" gap I believe from the case to the rad. If you have problems with your wires you could always put the rad on top of your case and put holes through the top. You could probably get some velcro to stick it on there if you dotn want to drill additional holes.

If all else fails, it may look stupid, but I believe you can mount the radiator onto the radbox vertically or horizontally, top or bottom. Meaning, you could probably mount the rad from the bottom so the top of it is high above your case or you could mount it horizontally so that the rad sticks out from the left or right of your case. But I may be wrong since I havent gotten a close look at the rad included with the apex kit yet.

Swiftech rad spacing as it comes fron the factory.

And with a small mod you can get a bit more room.

Thanks for the Pics, It will fit now seeing good pics of it. With my case it would be hard to mount on top atleast on the inside i have the Big Blow Hole on top of this case and it is a water cooling case so the back is where it will go. What kind of load temps does it run ? i have a Opty 148 and want to run volts @ 1.5 or better.
