Well I decided to buy a Maxtor for the first time, and probably for the last as well (luckily it has a warranty until June 2008 so I'm covered). Anyways I've run the diagnostic program (PowerMax) that Maxtor wants you to run before RMAing a drive, however that came out fine? The drive just won't boot Windows. It loads it forever but never boots it, eventually it just freezes, or instead of windows it'll run the disk check windows application thing and freeze there after getting to 3/3. Maxtor's customer service isn't really helpful either, they said they need a code to start an RMA, when I said it's not giving me one they said the harddrive must be fine and they can't start an RMA    . I've just randomly searched some codes, but found none that work. It's a 300gb Sata with the 16mb cache (Model# 6B3000S0).If I don't find any code that works I'm just going to call and yell at them tomorrow or something...Blah

Yeah, I don't buy maxtor anymore either. I'd suggest you look in the warranty - unless they said you needed a code to RMA, you shouldn't absolutely need one.
