Nothing special, but it was fun. Comments welcome.

heh, coolz. At least it was probably a fun project to do with your son. I like the look, I would be afraid of kicking it and having it crack into a thousand little peices. :)

Yes, Lego PC's have been done before, but at least you did it. Thats probably the most fun part about it. I give ya a big thumbs up!

You should probably continue the top all the way out to the plexi so that it has some support on that side insted of sagging in like that. Just a couple cents thrown in by me,

:D

woah thats awesome!
maybe i should try that with the lego i have lying around:rolleyes:
yeah anyways good job

i see you ran out of coordinating colors as you neared the top, or stopped worring about it. its all good though. im sure it was pretty fun to build. good work. :p

cool scene inside. just needs some wire organization.

everytime i see a lego mod it makes me want to do my own. my legos are just sitting back at my parents' house collecting dust. spring break coming up...hmm

I think that a quick trip over to www.lego.com will give you the chance to buy a large flat piece that can be used for either the top of the case or the bottom of the case. This will be in only one color, but after you place it on the top of the case you can place the other colors of Lego's on top of that to keep your theme going..........GREAT JOB!!!!!

That looks like a fun build. If I could only get my nephew to let me borrow some of his lego's. :D

Or Duplo blocks that would cut build time in half

how did you mount the mobo?

edit: looks sweet by the way, i am really considering doing this :p

Nice. I think its also a bit bigger than other ones i've seen. Whats the specs? it looks like an older mobo

It's an older machine, but it's going to be having a GA-7VAXP and Barton 2500+ in there shortly.

To mount the motherboard, I drilled small holes in the co-ordinating places for the mounts to screw into. It's suprisingly secure!

Thanks for all the comments. :D

nice job, but i think it would be cooler to have some uniformity in the colored legos.. for instance to have red trim around the edges and white on the rest of the front pieces. etc

its pretty expensive to buy specific colored legos in bulk.

Maybe the wiring is apart of the scene...Maybe the men inside that are really men that were travelling in space when they came across this planet. The planet was uncivilized, yet on the ships scanners, read there was gold and riches to be found upon it. When they landed, they went searching across the planet, and while searching, the ground gave way, and the men fell. They fell into the inners of the planet, it glowed blue, and was full of planet mesh, or as we know it, wires. A few men were able to survive the fall by landing upon ledges, while others fell deeper into the blue hole. The men armed themselves with what they had, to protect themselves from whatever lived within the planet. Just maybe...

I'll shutup...nice case too, looking good :)

The only problem I would have is one of those little lego men coming off and being sucked into the CPU Fan ;) Otherwise, it still looks cool!

sounds cheap but...not really...figure there are at least 800 bricks in that, id guess more like 1000+

800bricks / 50 bricks per pack * $7 each pack = ~$112, plus labor and applicable taxes )

even so, they could have sorted the pieces that they did have and used only one color on the edges or something like that to give it a better look.. s'ok though just a thought for the next guy to do this :p

whoa, thats cool. I've never seen someone do this so its all new to me.

I suppose you glued them inbetween or what?

And yea, it costs as much as a nice case anyway... accept you get the cool factor and the satisfaction that you built it.

Nice...ever consider maybe painting the outside of the case with clear coat so that it has a little more strength in case your step son accidentally kicks it or drives an RC car into it?
