On the contrary, run it until it dies. Then, once it does die, RMA it to Antec. They know about the problems with their smartpower series, and will take pretty much every psu in a RMA no questions asked.
If you get a new psu now, you risk it not having proprietary connectors for any new equipment that may come out when you do decide to upgrade your system again.
It will handle the extra load ok, there's a decent chance for failure at some point, but wait until then to consider buying a new one.
Are you just making guessing? Have there been incidents where this has happened? I actually have a smartpower unit. When mine went, nothing else did. And if the power supply was at fault for damaging any other components, you can be damn well sure I'd have antec paying for it.![]()
