After spending a few hours browsing the forums and reading people's opinions/views. I'm currently torn between two LCDs. Especially after reading the long postings regarding each mini-review.

Viewsonic VP201B ($875 lowest price I can get)
*20.1 inch
*16ms
*thinner border, usb, more adjustable

Sony SDMHS94P ($820 lowest price after $100 rebate)

*19.1 in
*12ms
*I actually like the border and the design more. SO I guess functionally viewsonic is better, but sony style looks awesome.
*When I look at the technical specs and people's reviews, it seems the Sony may have slightly better picture quality (newer technology??)?


Gaming performance wise I'm sure both of these are on par. (Correct me if I'm wrong)

So I'm not sure what to do. The price is neglible to me since they are in the same ballpark. And an extra $50 bucks for 1 more inch is great! I have yet to see floor models of these yet...Just wanted to get some extra input/direction/opinions beforehand.

Any comment is welcomed. Thanks.

I think there is one person who has had both and he likes the sony better. If I were you id wait to actually see the monitors in person. Some people dont like the glare of the sony.
 
I would go w/ the 20.1" because you can run it at 1600X1200. I'm not a big fan of 19" LCD monitors because they can only go 1280X1024, which is what the 17" does...you're spending more money to see a bigger picture but not gaining any desktop space.

Titanium .... that is so true. After using a dell 19" lcd @ 1280x1024, I decided to go for something with a 1600x1200 native res. Better bang for the buck, esp. if you do a lot of content creation etc..
 
While the above is true, one benefit to having 12x10 is better performance in gaming. :) If you arent' a gamer, then disregard this comment.

(And yes I know you can run 12x10 on a 20" but the scaling doesn't do it justice imo.)
