Another headphone/set advice needed...

I am looking to get a new set of headphones with a mic. I am willing to spend ~$100 but can spend more. I currently have Sennheiser PC150's and I like them a lot, I have had them since they came out. I am wondering what is out there that is better as my set has been abused and my cat ate through the cable. I fixed the cable, but still think the mic may be slightly broken now.

Main use: Games (FPS mainly)
Alt use: Skype/VoIP use.

I am not apposed to a seperate headset/mic setup. So what would you recommend for headphones, seperate mic, or headset w/mic?

Yup, I had to splice the cable and fix it. It feels like it works fine but some people have said that my mic is now soft or it is crackling but not consistently.
