Usually I think Mac -> PC mods are kind of cool but I think this one makes a totally mockery out of them. Only good stuff is probably the SCSI drives- and I'm not a big fan of SCSI.
On the up shot those fans look pretty cool, I wonder if, with a little work, they could be rewired. And it gives some nice shots for someone to do an awesome mod down the road. So what do you guys think about it?
 
Site is down. I think I've seen it before posted on other forums. What a total waste of a G5.... guy should have sold it if he didn't want it and used the money for something more worth while.
 
did that guy throw out the old stuff? Or did he be really cool and creative and put it in a PC case?
 
Dang! I think it's a waste of money and time. How can anyone be crazy enough to tear apart a $1800+ system and put in PC parts that aren't near as powerful as the G5? This dude needs his head straightened out!
 
I'd love to find a G4 or G5 case and mod it into a PC case. Don't really have the time or money to do so, so it's probably going to be an unrealized dream. ;)
 
i like the g5 case design alot. i'd use an apple if they had better mouses. (i hate the large giant button) that and if they became more mainstream. but oh well, to each his own.

That is the most common thing I hear about Macs. :p You know, you can plug any standard USB mouse into a Mac, right? :p
 
I cant stand the OS's layout and basic functionality.

And am I the only one that hates the outside of the G5? the inside is nice but outside, bleh

Well, you aren't limited to Mac OS... You can run just about any flavor of Linux, I believe. :)

That G5 is worth 3X the shit he stuffed in it. Even if you dont like Macs, doing that to that compurer was a total inbred retard thing to do.

I like my G5 and OS X, but I also dig my 3000+ Athlon wit the pReTTy BluE Fans. I swing both ways, G5, 3000+, it's all good.

But this kid is just a pathetic loser - his rents spent 3,000 dollars for him and the best he can do is cut the hell out of it and stick 300 bucks of used shit in there??????????

2) I hate Macs. I don't even like the look. There is one thing that appeals to me about Macs- stablity. And I only need one reason not to get one- functionality.

Remove dually 64 bit G5's and SATA drives for a 2200+ and an agp-less AMD??
The G5 could so play better games than that thing... especially with a windows emulator... which could probably run faster than that 2200+ can run windows...

bleh. now i see why all the outrage on this site is about. it seems like it was a good idea but just didn't really follow through. if he'd have modded it to have some other kick ass products of equal power to the g5 then there probably won't be very much uproar as to his doing this.
