Coinhive has gotten a considerable amount of coverage lately, here, here, and here, just to name a few. If you are not yet familiar, your computer's resources are basically used to mine cryptocurrency when you visit a website with the protocol installed by the owner, or it has been hacked into the page by another. It seems as though some folks think this is a great idea and are jumping on the Coinhive bandwagon. Crypto-Loot is the new player. If this concerns you, and you want to block this activity on your own box, Bleeping Computer has some solutions for you at the bottom of this page. While most antivirus packages are picking up detection of Coinhive. AdBlock Plus and AdGuard can be used stop the script as well. And if you are a Chrome user, the No Coin extension currently has the ability to block both Coinhive and Crypto-Loot. And who said the Internet was out of its WIld Wild West phase. That show was badass when I growing up.

Oh please no giant steam spider, the Will Smith movie made a complete mockery of all that show was. That show was Gunsmoke, James Bond, and Mission Impossible all in one. I have all the first season, when it was all still B&W, I ONCE saw a DVD collection of the show and still kick myself for not just buying it immediately, as I have never seen it again. Funny thing, the original show was canceled for being "too violent".

That seems to be a mishmash of the opening and closing themes, and of course the graphics are all from the closings. The neat thing was there was a fixed set of panels used for the opening, and then the 4 surrounding the West character filled in with the end scene of each of the 4 'acts' of the show.

That show was awesome! I bear a rather large scar on my head from an attempt at going from a second story to the ground Jim West style as a kid. :) As for the Will Smith abomination ... eff that noise!

Hence my favorite WWII fighter is the Corsair. And the first plastic model kit I built entirely on my own is, you guessed it, a Corsair. I think though I discovered the shows in reverse order - I was old enough to watch Black Sheep but I was less than a year old when WWW was canceled. It was in the 70's I discovered it in reruns, so it was more like "Hey, that's the guy from Black Sheep". I'm also a model railroader, and as a kid I had several 1880's style locos and cars, one of the locos is a model of the one they used on the show, so I'd have my Wild Wild West train I'd run around, though none of the cool operating gadgets in the passenger car.

I will check Amazon, it's been years since I've seen any of the episodes past the first season. I have Prime, and occasionally watch new movies and some of the new shows they've done btu I never think to look at what older content they have available.

A friend of my family owns the Mid America Flight Museum. I was recently offered a ride in "any airplane you want to go up in." I picked the Corsair that they had just finished restoring. I was then told that was the only plane he would not take me up in. :( It was due to the fact that the front seat had to be unbolted to put me in back, and obviously bolted back in, and if we had an emergency situation he did not want to see me burn to death. Below is the actual plane now here in Texas.

 


This is the opening I remember seeing in reruns as a kid. I loved that show. I hated the movie, though I was ok with the Will Smith song.

As far as malware hitting SmartTVs, there are a few out there, though not many so far.
