I work at Intel and we recently rolled out the new logo. Bottom line - our new desktop wallpapers suck. I can't even find one in 1920x1200 resolution. Anyone interested in making a high res wallpaper for use on my office machine? If nothing else, it'll get a lot of exposure to some big wigs.

Here's what the new logo looks like in case you missed it.

Of course, but the only desktop wallpaper I could find is 1024x768. Obviously that won't cut it on my 2405. Most people just use their own, but it'd be nice to have something Intel-themed. I guess it just seems a little more professional to me. No takers, eh?
 
Why don't you ask for a copy of their vectorized logo? You can then make it any size you wish... ;)
 
My point is: why not ask the artist who drew the samller wallpaper to provide you with a larger version?

I see your point, but I work in a finance building and don't even know who to ask. I pulled the wallpapers off our internal website. Maybe I will try to track someone down, though.

I know there are some talented folks here and I thought I'd try my luck. No harm, no foul.

Well, the harm is that you're playing around with a trademarked image. Intel is all about intellectual property, as I'm sure you well know.

Maybe asking around to find someone in the marking department will help you get new connections.

Well, I'm incredibly bored at work, so I made this. You probably don't really work at Intel, but if you did, I'd totally ask you to hook me up :p. I'm terrible at backgrounds, so I decided to keep it simple. Let me know what you think.

None for me, I was just goofin. Too much trouble to pay for shipping. Not too dissapointed that you didn't pick mine, because I just found the vector art and made a craptacular wallpaper because it gave me something to do :p. I don't know why, but it always confuses me when I find out that some people on the boards are from these big tech. manufacturing companies. Shouldn't be, because, well, this is the [H] after all, but I get this sense of pride that we have some people from the big wigs browsing around. Sweet. I am deliriously tired. Why am I still up?

Thanks! My one request would be to move the logo up a bit so the taskbar doesn't obscure it. What app did you use to create this?

Wow that looks pretty sweet.
Hope you don't mind that some other random person downloaded it and is using it as a wallpaper too.
 
I get a lot of wallpapers from http://interfacelift.com/ they have lots of great photos in widescreen formats.

I took this wallpaper:


...and made a Pentium M version for my laptop and a Celeron M version fro my desktop. I also made a blank template in case I want to do any other versions later. I'll have to post it later since photo upload sites are blocked at work.
 
Thanks again for all the help. I showed these off during a meeting and most seemed pretty impressed. I'm sure they'll get passed around.
