Another 6800U overclocking question

I have a BFG 6800U OC arriving tomorrow (425Mhz core, 1100Mhz memory). I haven't overclocked anything before, so I'm not necessarily interested in tweaking it to its limit. I'd just like to push it a little bit a above the levels a lot of GT owners are getting ;-)

Does anyone know if BFG cards come with software that allows the cards to be overclocked? The software details on their site imply not. If this is the case, what do I need to use to overclock? Will it allow me to monitor the card temperature?

Can anyone recommend what sort of levels I'd be safe to put it up to, without being on the limit, or is there no way to tell? I'd hate to hear a comedy "phut" noise from inside the PC case as it gives up the ghost 20 minutes after it arrives...

Cheers for any input you might have...

RivaTuner

Click I agree, and download. Run the self-installer and you will have installed the best Nvidia overclocking tool out there. It's not really a "tweak", but it can be used for some of the best and most comprehensive tweaking of your card's drivers you will see in a long time. It will allow you to overclock by simply enabling driver level overclocking and moving the slider.

Also, if you tell it to load in startup by a Registry Key, it should put a tab in your video card's advanced settings titled "Clock Frequencies" that allows you to modify the clocks directly from the advanced desktop settings.

Google RivaTuner FAQ for any other questions you may have. :)

You can use the coolbits registry thingy too...that way you can set the clocks right from the nv control panel and it works quite well...

I really don't know how well your over-clocking experience will be...it's already at 425 which is pretty sweet...I would imagine with good cooling you could hit 450...but beyond that I dunno...
