so I got a q9300, 2x2gb of ram because the P5Q PRO sucks at ram, a 4870 and a

PC POWER and COOLING 750 Silencer.

I am getting a 4870x2 to toss in to the mix...

will my psu (all of 3 months old) be able to crank it?

A 4870 & 4870X2 in the same pc? In any event your psu has more than enough headroom for 4870x2 Crossfire.

AMD ATI Radeon HD 4870 X2 Preview

Brent was using a more powerful rig that yours and only seeing 468W at the wall. Factor in 80% eff and that is a 375W load on the psu.

everyone keeps quoting that number but you all FAIL to mention that the CPU wasn't being loaded in that test. Also, as a personal rule I never factor in the eff. (head-room is good, both for upgrades and plain old stress reduction on the PSU).

That said, you'll be fine.

kickin... now... will I still be fine with my 10 hdd's in raid 0? (8 in one array, 2 in another array for pagefile, looking to go SSD though...)
