Greetings,
I know everyone is talking about the 2001FP and there are some mixed results from people so I figured i'd register and post my 2 cents.

I use my 2001FP primarily for gaming and in the games i've played so far i've been quite impressed. The colors are very sharp and the ghosting is very minimal.

I have read a lot of horror stories about monitors people were receiving that had alot of defects, such as stuck or dead pixels and backlighting issues and I have to say I was a little reluctant to order one. But here it is on my desk and I have NO dead/stuck pixels and NO backlighting issues.

My only problem was speaking to the sales reps to order the thing. I think I asked them to repeat stuff like 50 times during the conversation so I could understand, but im glad I at least got the correct item. :p

Anyways to make a long story short I give the Dell 2001FP 5 out of 5 schwings and I recommend it to anyone shopping for a new LCD for gaming or general computer use.

Best of luck guys,
Latex

I'm really wondering (read: hoping) that the dead pixels reviews are more of a "nobody yells when something's done right" type of thing. I seem to know a lot of people with LCD's and zero complaints, but when I check review boards it's a different story.

Optamistically, people without problems don't have a reason to vent, leaving more negative feedback.

I'll definately post either way, once I decide which LCD's to get.

Just a quick question...

I'm concerned a lot about dragging a window slowly. Is there any flickering or ghosting when you do that?

Ghosting is very minimal when dragging windows. It's only slighty more annoying than dragging a window and trying to focus on it on a CRT. I really like my 2001FP. Im happy with it.

No ghosting it just gets blurry, but I tend not to read a window thats moving.

Thats what I meant to say actually. lol :D

glad you like your new 2001FP. I know I love mine. :)

Just recieved mine on Sunday. Love it. No dead pixels, no backlighting issues. I do have one question problem though. It seems that the borders around the pixels are larger then what Im used to giving the screen an almost interlaced effect when looking at a white backround or picture thumbnail. Is this a defect or normal?

Looking through the Dell forums i see that a number of people have had this problem but I couldnt find any kind of official response to it.

My apologies if this has already been covered :)
