Some users have recently had their accounts hijacked. It seems that the now defunct EVGA forums might have compromised your password there and seems many are using the same PW here. We would suggest you UPDATE YOUR PASSWORD and TURN ON 2FA for your account here to further secure it. None of the compromised accounts had 2FA turned on.
Once you have enabled 2FA, your account will be updated soon to show a badge, letting other members know that you use 2FA to protect your account. This should be beneficial for everyone that uses FSFT.
I'm planning on anodizing my case internals but i'm not sure if I need to keep threads plugged and/or remove rivets. Can anyone share their experience or knowledge?
I have had many cases anodized. You must remove any steal from the chassis. Threads that are in aluminum will be fine and still work, but may feel gritty when putting in the screws the first few times. If the threads are steel inserts you will have to remove and replace those inserts. You will have to de-rivet the case because most rivets have a steal mandrel inside. This will be destroyed by the anodizing process and cause weird discoloration of your anodized metal. I have riveted a case with Aluminum/Aluminum rivets, and it worked fine, but the rivets were about $30 for 500 which is expensive.
Here is one of the machines I had anodized. Started out as black and silver. It is very hard to see but I had to paint the IO/PCI bracket rear plate because the Threads for the PCI cards were steal inserts. A good anodizing company can change the anodizing color of any chassis. One thing that can happen sometimes is the surface texture of the Aluminum can change. That happened to one piece in this case but it is hidden and cannot be seen.
Where did you have the anodizing done? I'm gonna need some done soon and am looking for a good place in Portland. I'm assuming your somewhere nearby due to pdxlan...
