Annoying wireless problems

Hello all,

So I've been working on my grandmother's network for a few weeks now, and I'm almost at a complete loss.

She has AT&T DSL service, and has a Linksys E900 wireless router. This same issue has happened between three different routers, an earlier model Linksys, and two E900s. First off, I know the router and modem has been configured properly, because everything works reasonably well over a wired connection. Her network consists of one MacBook, one Windows laptop, one Windows desktop, and sometimes her iPhone.

I have configured the wireless settings once using WPA2. The router does not give me the choice of an encryption method (TKIP, AES). I have also removed encryption completely and am still faced with a 'Cannot connect to wireless network, network timeout' error message on my MacBook Pro and her MacBook. The Windows laptop just says 'Connecting...', and never receives an IP address. I have removed the wireless profile from all machines, but the error message seems to come up before I'm ever prompted for the network passphrase.

Like I said before, I can connect any machine to the router via ethernet and it works just fine. For what it's worth, I will say that they have been having some voltage issues in their house as of late. Last night I got a pretty nasty little voltage shock from one of their outlets while I was working with this stuff. I have access to a multimeter if we want to go that in-depth with it.

Thanks in advance!
