Animated graphics rendering

Hi all,

with respect to graphics rendering, does the operating system make any difference? I understand having a 64bit operating system would be advantagous if the systems in the farm had more than 3.5GB of memory each, but other than that, does the OS make any difference with respect to graphics rendering?

The OS shouldn't make any appreciable difference but there may be advantages that come from running the renderer in 64-bit mode.

If you're actually putting all the work into building a farm, the best thing to do would be to test it with your preferred hardware/software setup.
