Have you tried to test the RAM to make sure it was screwing up and wasn't something else? You could have mobo problems, or anything else.

im not sure, my current dell uses that ram bus ram and im not sure about my parents, ill dl cpuz on theres and test if it will work. god i dont wanna have to send back my mb.

im not up to date with neweggs rma policy but i baught this mb in earlie december, would they still take it back?

So it's not booting at all, it just hangs before POST with a beepcode?
Sound like the mobo if you're sure its the memory error beepcode :(

Reset CMOS and try, try again. You have not done a very thorough diagnostic...uh...session? Troubleshoot some more.

also check to make sure that the ram is properly seated, i know it seems obvious but it can't hurt to give it a firm but gentle push and make sure the tabs are in place. also make sure its the right ram for your system and like another poster said try resetting the cmos

Also, ( this may sound silly, but I've done it ) check to make sure your motherboard supports that ram. I had a simple problem where I got memory beeps when I had pc3200 running @ 400mhz, and my barton 2600+ was running 333mhz.. i tried everything to no avail. Then I went to pc2700 (333mhz) boom.. worked fine... although it could be several things...

i tested all the slots, reset cmos, took the mb out and put it on the wood table, incase something in the case was shorting something out, still the same problem. i highly doubt i would get 2 bad sticks of ram in a row, so im going to send back the mb and try again when my new one comes.

when i go to rma it with newegg it says repair, that is my only option. i take it newegg sends it back to abit? will i have to wait for abit to fix it or does newegg have it fixed, send me a new one and resell the old one?

I think Newegg sends you a new one and I don't know what they do with the one you send back.

Newegg sends it back to the manufacturer to have it "Remaced" (Re-manufactured), which means they test it out, fix it if practical, repackage it, and sell it as new or refurbished.

Newegg sends you a new board pretty much as soon as they receive your old one.

do you think newegg would care about that i/o plate thing or the usb firewire pci slot thing that plugs into the mb?
