Remeber in 2005 when those amazing, $1500 video cards were 2' long and required a separate power supply? I really want to own one, just for kicks. Problem is, while I remember they were big and expensive, I don't remember anything else about them. Anybody have any ideas? Tried googling "large video card 2005" or some parts of that, and got nothing useful. No hurrys, this is just a strong curiosity. Thanks!

wat

video cards in 05 were standard atx length and were 100-400$ ish from ati/nvidia

2005 wasn't very long ago, wasn't that 7000 series era for nVidia?

im exagerating the size, but not the price. eith grade would have been 2004, 2005 for me. we looked at them in computer class whatever it wass called, on tigerdirect.com. the one i remember was black, 2 slots wide/tall, and it was $1100.

This video card looks very old and very long, though no actual measurement of the card is given:

I was unable to find any more info about this "Video Seven V7 Vega" card.

Some of the ATI workstation cards appear to be long, but again I can't find actual measurements, just pictures on newegg:

The Voodoo5 card just looks amusing with all those little fans on it:

But never forget the ultimate long video card, the Bitchin'Fast 3D2000:

you're thinking of the 3DLabs Wildcat REALiZM series, very likely the 200 based on your price estimate, they were top of the line professional workstation cards in 2005, are relatively hard to find anymore, and are gouged to the moon for price

2005 was GeForce 6 and GeForce 7 era depending on time of year and what range you're talking about
