Anand's review is up!

Well, the "real" review that matters is up. Looks like they actually show how kickass this card really is (unlike the [H] review).

They too are reserved in their conclusion, as it really seems like everyone is waiting for X800. Although, I really don't see a 12 pipeline card putting out this much horsepower. We'll probably have to wait until the XT version at the end of may.

Yeah... and there is something very strange.... that leaves me questioning part of the [H]ard review...

In the [H] review 6800 showed almost no increase in ut2004... but look at anands review..

I am going to wait until the 420, Like andand said, too early to crown a king yet. But the Nv40 does look good, I would have liked to see better performance in Far Cry, since it is one of my favs right now. But either way whichever card does the best for my $499 gets it. I just hope it's the 420 now just to get better perfomance for the money.

To jump on this would be foolish until seeing what Ati's offering has.

yeah, for some unfathomable reason, [H] decided to use the 3.0c for its benches, leaving at least two of them, (if not all but COD) very cpu bound, NFSU is the best example of this.

I was never one to complain about ATi's AF technique in the past since I never noticed much during actual gameplay. But those who hated it, well it looks like nVidia has taken the same approach, if not more optimized.

Does 60.72 do this on the 59XX series as well? I've been using 60.72 for a while now and didn't notice, although admittedly I am one of those people who didn't mind ATi's technique either, or is this AF method only for the 6800.

Well i'm thoroughly impressed by the nv40, i got the same "wow factor" as i did with the 9700 pro last summer.

I'm also curious about the nv40's hardware video encoding, if they can pull off faster speeds in video encoding then a fast cpu, i will buy a nv40. But there is no software to take advantage of this yet.

I'm still going to hold off buying anything until the r420 steps up to the plate and shows what it can do.

That's what I'm really interested in as well. 1080p WMV9 decoding/encoding sure sounds kickass. Looks like those features aren't implemented on the current drivers yet. Can't wait to see the results when they are.
