Anand and Brian Weigh in at the Battery and MicroSD Debate

Revisionist history at its best.

WinMo, Nokia etc had phones light years ahead of iPhone's. Creative, Corwin etc had mp3 players light years ahead of any iPod.

People, and not just forum posts here, but major tech blogs and books, want to sell us the myth that if Apple hadn't come along, we wouldn't have the modern smartphone or music player. Total nonsense.

All Apple did was make the idea popular that you should pay hugely more for less - they made everything white, shiny, removed a ton of features, had massive marketing, and sold it for a huge profit - thus making a 'premium' product, and the public fell for it like idiots.

Apple has done nothing even close to innovative as far as tech goes. Things like touch displays, simple controls etc were all things that would've come to other devices. You have to laugh at iZeaolots who think Apple gifted the world 'retina' displays and touch based OS.

Apple is the only company with proprietary protocols and expensive walled garden, they refuse to cooperate or work with anyone else.

Pathological liar and selfish a-hole Jobs is hailed as the savior or mankind. All he did was buy or steal other peoples tech, polish it up, market the hell out of it, most importantly patent it (based on a flawed USPTO), sue others, and lock everything down.

Seriously? Compared to now, sure. WinMO was amazing in its time. People seriously need to cut the nostalgia bullshit when the iphone released it was fucking garbage. WHat it had going for it was not something Apple came up with or revolutionized it was simply new technology they jumped on.

I still dont get how people look back at the piece of shit iphone 1 and call it revolutionary. It was a smartphone that was missing so many basic smart phone features, it didnt even have a GPS FFS.

It was a phone you didn't want to throw out the window every time you used it.
