My sister wants to record voicemail from her cellphone onto her HDD. The phone has an 1/8 inch minijack output and her computer has an 1/8 inch minijack input, but what software is there to record something like this?

anything should work...

heck, even the "sound recorder" that comes with windows (start > programs > accessories > entertainment > sound recorder)...

it has a 60 second time limit, but it should work just fine... otherwise, just get any sound editing software.

just make sure it's "listening" on the right jack... microphone, or "line in" or whatever... hit play on the phone, and record on the PC.

you'll need a 1/8" to 1/8" cord, too, to go from the earpiece hole to the PC.

should be pretty easy...

just like bjork said, the sound recorder with windows is just fine, but it doesn't have a 60 second limit ;) (just start recording, then stop again, it'll give you more time, then record over that)

Just make sure you have line-in (or mic) selected as your recording device.

ahh, i didn't know there was a way to record from a source other than the microphone, thanks people.
