An HD7870 in wife's SG05 case

Assuming the card is actually 10.24", it will fit. 10.24" equals ~260mm and the SG05 can take up to 265mm.
 
It's actually shorter, the 260mm listed on their site includes the expansion slot bracket, so it's like 255mm. Plenty of room. SG05 internal length is only 262mm not 265mm ;)
 
The only thing I can add is just make sure the power connector is on top of the card. :)
 
Well yall told me to give it a try and I did. It fits. I did have a Scythe Big Shuriken that i had to remove and replace with the stock Intel HSF. Once I took the Scythe off, I was unable to get it back on with the video card so near the push-downs. So far its running well in the Case with no problems.

That 7870 has plenty of room. Look at sig way smaller than the 6970 Icame from.j
 
FWIW, I just installed my Zotac Twincooler (which appears to be the same cooler as on that 660ti, minus the crazy shroud) on my eVGA 670 4GB SC+ card.

So you can make the 670's fit into many more places if you can find the parts :D
 
Just an fyi, got a 5850 in mine with the side power connector and you can cut the sheet metal to get a little more clearance at the end... but not as pretty as the 660 :)
