Hello, I recently got a bfg 285gtx that require 42 Amp.
My power supply is a ocz gamexstream 600w.
It got 4 rails of 12v with 18Amp each. there 2 rails used for the video card so i end at 36 and the video card ask for 42.
So I was wondering how do we count these Amp. do I need to calculate the 4rails or only the 2 one used for the video card. Because at the moment the video card doesn't boot half of the time. So I need to know if it's my power supply or the video card. thanks.

the card itself doesn't require 42 amps

That is the manufacturer's recommended minimum for your whole computer (with that videocard).

What cpu are you using and is it overclocked? What other components does that computer have. That psu is rated at 48.33 amps for all 12V lines together (580W) so it should be OK but it does sound like there is a problem.

it's a core 2 duo 2.13 and isn't overclocked,
1 dvd burner
2 hard drives sata
2 extra 80mm fans
3x 1gb ocz gold edition ram, 800mhz, at 2.1v
nothing big, so it must be the video card, i gonna rma it. thank you.
