I've got a project I'm struggling with for a materials class and thought you guys might be able to help, not sure where else to ask.
I'm looking at how a metal's properties can be altered by using a different cooling technique. For example, how would a crystalline metal compare to something like this http://www.nealloys.com/36_alloy_invar.php with regards to how brittle it is?
I suppose the grains in amorphous materials aren't as big so any cracks etc are more likely to spread through the whole material?

Thanks!
