I haven't used AMD for quite a few years. So I have no idea which boards use which BIOS anymore. I'd prefer a board that uses PHX award BIOS & not AMI BIOS. Anyone know which board makers still use this BIOS? MSI/Asus/Gigabyte ... any of them really. Looking for an AM3 board to grab an AMD quadcore for. No onboard video & just one PCI-E slot just to keep a few ideas out there. Don't mind 2 PCI-E slots. Just not anymore. Anyways, any help would be appreciated. I've scanned these forums for days now. Trying to figure it out. :confused:
 
both Vendors use teh same layout at times...

AMI makes a great BIOS but you want the one that looks like the Phoenix...the Blue back ground with Red hovers

Phoenix has a BIOS version just like the AMI that works the same way...I agree I dont like the plain AMI style...
 
Not soo much like or dislike it ... just more familiar w/the layout. Usually a few more options.
 
just look at motherboard reviews......all that ive ever seen show what the BIOS looks like, and usually tell you what the BIOS maker is....
