AMD X2 3800+ overclocks

Just wondering, how are these CPU's overclocking? I'm thinking of picking one up but I'm hoping that I would hit around 2.7-2.8ghz. System specs and cooling are in sig. Thanks!
 
2.7 or 2.8 would be pretty rare, especially for air...there are some doing it though......2.6 with good cooling seems to be in range of many of the 3800+'s and 2.4 to 2.5 is practically a freebie....
 
i just got my second X2 3800+ from Frys during the black fridays sale and it was an
LDBHE 0541RPAW

i have it doing 2.7 with 1.52 volts Dual Prime stable with some watercooling and on the ECS mobo i got in the combo deal.

it is definately possible but, it is the luck of the draw.

I guess i am lucky since my first X2 is doing 2.81 with 1.58 volts with H2O cooling. :D
 
my old x2 wouldn't go higher than 2.3, but you can't expect them all to be great :)
