As we all should know the only thing tighter than SMP deadlines are the PS3 deadlines.
I''m running an AMD X2 3800+ w/ 1GB of RAM and have to be careful not to use to much memory, cuz the SMP client will bomb out. FahSpy reports it running at 710 ppd.
Tigerbitten seemed to recommend against using an AMD 3800+ for SMP and I have to agree its not for the lazy.
It's not a "set it and forget it". Whereas my other boxen may crank 80ppd the protein has a deadline of a month, so I load two proteins and walk away.
My switch went out a week ago, and if I had been running SMP I would have been concerned. As it was I had time to order from the egg and continue cranking out 200ppd on the X2.
So just a word to the wise - an AMD X2 3800+ w /SMP requires babysitting - but it will work.
