So I have some spare phenom II's sitting around are they work doing dedicated cpu folding with? I think I even have some plain phenom's as well. How much ppd wise are people getting with them under win 7? Thanks

phenom II's yes, phenom I's no..

phenom II 940 @ 3Ghz does around 4k-5k PPD, 3.6Ghz does around 7k-8k PPD.. should give you a rough idea of what the phenom II's will do. the x2's do between 2k-3k PPD.

I know off hand I have a 550 that unlocks to quad core and hits 3.9 on stock voltage. Might be worth it.

wow 3.9 on stock voltage.. thats definitely a nice chip, though most likely will have to increase the voltage to run F@H SMP.. the smp clients much more picky then most stability programs.

All depends on the speed/which chips you have :D But yes it should be worth it for the Phenom II's but not the Phenom I's

Back when I first started folding, I put my PII 965@3.5ghz to work until I put up my first dedicated rig. I was getting between 6-7k ppd at the time. On stock vcore, 3.5ghz is as far as mine will go.

What does this even mean?

LOL...

He is trying to tell you in folding geek talk to sell your original Phenoms and buy more production by using that money towards other hardware.

I checked the other day and I was in the top 20 producers for our team. I am hoping to bring several I5/I7 systems on line this week. I am going to pickup a gts450 and bring it up online today as well as in the next week or so picking up a gtx 550 to add to folding. I would like to have 200,000+ ppd a day average. I am bringing some water cooling stuff online to cool off gpu's so I can overclock them.

Well I got the 450 need to get it installed and I picked up a 460 gtx off here that I should get soon woohoo

I joined in december but did not really start till january and the addiction started. I am so excited by the gts 450 and gtx 550 since they crunch so well and use much less power.
