Okay, here is whats going on. This is what I'm working with:
Athlon XP 1600+ (not overclocked)
ECS K7AMA Motherboard
512 MB PC133 Ram x2 sticks
Western Digital 40 gig HDD
Rio Diamond Monster Sound MX300 Sound Card
WinTV-GO 190 Capturecard
TDK Velocd 24/10/40 CDRW
Creative Encore 12x DVD with Dxr3
NEC Pre Amp With Controller
BOSTON ACOUSTICS DIGITAL BA735 2.1 SPEAKER SYSTEM
The case is X-Clear Acrylic Computer Case
Systemax 17" Monitor (it's crappy but it works for the time being)
I want to build a rig that I can rip dvds,do some tivo stuff,of course go online with some true speed,LAN game play some First Person Shooters/Driving Sims. I'm keeping my case and monitor, the rest can be a file server for all that matters. I'm trying to piece this together in about a years time. I can't afford to just go out and buy everything at once. Tho I wish I could. On a landscaper's income at the slowest part of the season, I think you get my drift. Oh,one thing tho. The cpu has to be a AMD
Just throw me some ideas if you would, about what you think would be a good build.
