ummm, they already bought Agiea PhysX and have integrated it into thier next cards. I don't think nvidia is really gonne need to worry about that.
What they should be worried about is the motherboard market. Intel won't let Nvidia make Nehalem chipsets unless they let Intel use SLI on thier own boards.
It's going to be an interesting couple years for nvidia.

Think ahead...if Intel and AMD uses Havok...NVIDIA's PhysX is in a thoughspot.

It's different physics engines and Havok doesn't have GPU accelerated physics (and probably won't until Larrabee arrives). nvidia "benefits" from these Havok CPU optimizations (and eventual GPU optimizations) too, and will also benefit from CUDA PhysX long before that.
 
So the two cpu companies cooperating to make physics on the cpu better? How is this bad against Nvidia, a company that does not make cpu's?

Perhaps you should read up before posting.
This is not about CPU physcis.
This is about hardware physcis on Larrabee, G200 ect.
It's PhysX owned by NVIDIA vs. Havok owned Intel and now supported by AMD.

Oh, and the PhysX run on CPU's to, but current gen CPU's sucks for physcis.
 
Well we know that with Larrabee, Intel wants to enter the discrete GPU market and you bet they'll put Havok on there.

Problem with PhysX is that they don't have enough of the market compared to Havok - in fact, Havok is already in hundreds of games out and being developed as we speak. For AMD, the possibility that ATI can get in on GPU accelerated Havok physics as well as their existing CPU's is a huge boost given the # of titles out there that may benefit.

Nvidia must try hard to advertise PhysX and expand it otherwise no developers will support it, even if they are TWIMTBP because they don't want to alienate other parts of the market.

It's been posted a few times already. It looks like the last weekend "release" has been postponed indefinitely. The people who signed up for the beta are also waiting. For some reason the HD 4800 series isn't going to be supported (read the last 2 pages of comments).

It's starting to look like this hack wasn't as complete as was implied. I started to get suspicious when the first date was missed and the lack of any CPU test 2 screenshots. I'd love for this to be real since I have a HD 3870.
