is this too hgih ?

i took the stock grey paste and applied AS5

only put like a green pea size amount

why is it so high ?

my 3400+ s754 idled around 45-48 depending on room temps, but i had no stability issues or anything.

i just ran a duct out my window now my runs at about 31c under full load (playing cs:s for 2 hours)

mines idles at 27-30 with my new smartfan :) but that is pretty high..can U give us ur specs...fans...airflow...etc...you probably need to reseat the heatsink...before you applied the arctic silver 5? what were the temps of the old thermal paste???

lian li pc65 -1 exhaust/1 on top/2 intake

stock heatsink was at like 52c

Mines 38 under load and overclocked with a stock fan. What voltage are you running? What is the ambient temp?

What is your system temp?

Mine idles in the low 20's, but my room temp is about 65F. What are you using for a HS/F?

Mine's 30 idle and 48 under load (an hour and a half of prime95.)

Aspire X-Navigator case (5 fans.) :)

mobo?
heatsink?
ambient temps?

oo forgot to ask you..what kind of motherboard do you have..it can be reporting the temp higher than it really is..

Sitting here thinking about the size of a green pea.........I'd estimate you have about 4 or 5 times more AS-5 on there then you need.

Pea vs Rice......... ;)

so a white rice size is enough for that cpu with heat spreaders ?

see the A in amd on your heatspreader? the size of that is probably about right
